“A mysterious island. An abandoned orphanage. A strange collection of very curious photographs. It all waits to be discovered in Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, an unforgettable novel that mixes fiction and photography in a thrilling reading experience. As our story opens, a horrific family tragedy sets sixteen-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the crumbling ruins of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. They may have been quarantined on a deserted island for good reason. And somehow—impossible though it seems—they may still be alive.“
7 outta 10. An amazing story, so unique. Some of the photos were scary but incredible interesting and different as well. I call them photos because they actually are! Collected by Ransom Riggs who is a photo collector, just tinkering with a few of them to make them look peculiar. Containing about 20 photos it is a proper book with an amazing story line. The photos make it more interesting though, I don’t think I would have enjoyed it as much without them. For some reason I couldn’t get really into this book, I’m not sure why, I just felt my mind wondering after a while. That didn’t stop it from being a good book that I did enjoy though. I’m looking forward to reading the sequl to Miss Peregraines home for peculiar children book, The Hollows which can out just a few weeks ago.
