The Color Run NZ

What is The Color Run, you ask?

For more info about the color run, go here:

The Color Run was founded in January of 2012 as an event to promote healthiness and happiness by bringing the community together to participate in the “Happiest 5k on the Planet”. We are the original paint race and have created a completely new genre of running events that continues to grow exponentially.

Now the single largest event series in the United States, The Color Run has exploded since our debut event. We have more than tripled our growth, hosting more than 170 events in 30+ countries in 2013.

We’re not sure if it was the happiest 5k of our lives, since it was raining so hard we could barely see and it was so cold we were shaking like Chihuahuas.

But it was still very very fun despite the weather, which just so happened to clear up as soon as the run was finished and turn into a sunny summer day…

It was great fun for anyone who doesn’t mind getting completely covered in colored powder.

We suggest any one thinking of doing it, to definitely go and do it! It’s not just a run, you can walk it to, people had kids and prams, wheel chairs and a few people were even wearing wedding dresses.

Getting our packs a day before the run – notice what a nice day it is.

Getting ready to run – notice what a cold day it is. You can’t really see, but trust us, it was absolutely pouring with rain.

About to cross the finish line and yep, we did decide to just stop for a quick photo – notice the weather looks like it’s clearing up and turning into an awesome day.

At the finish festival which was basically just a giant colourful party – notice it’s so bright and sunny we have to squint from the glare of the sun.

Coloured and happy (and a tensy bit cold) to have finished our first ever Color Run!
